Back in January 2015, Fixer Upper fans got a front-row seat to watch Chip and Joanna Gaines help newlyweds Blake and Kimberly Batson find their dream home in Waco, Texas. This season 2 episode documented the transformation of a charming bungalow located just a stone's throw from their beloved coffee shop, Common Grounds. So, what exactly happened to Blake and Kimberly after their big moment on the show? Let's dive into their story and find out!
How Chip and Joanna Helped Blake and Kimberly Find Their Perfect Home
In 2012, Blake and Kimberly purchased the Common Grounds coffee shop, a hotspot right across the street from the Baylor University campus. Fast forward a few years, and these Baylor graduates found themselves in need of a place to call home. With a budget of $120,000, they reached out to the Gaines duo for help. They were looking for a property with a big yard and plenty of lush greenery to make it feel like a sanctuary.

They eventually settled on a small suburban home that had a lot of potential. With Chip and Joanna’s expert touch, the three-bedroom house got a fresh coat of blue paint on the outside, complemented by lush plants and shrubs to make the front yard pop. The kitchen was updated with open shelving and natural wood furnishings, creating the perfect blend of functionality and style.

One of the most exciting parts of the renovation was the discovery of the home’s original fireplace. Chip stumbled upon it after knocking down a wall in the living room, and the rustic bricks added a modern twist to the cozy living space. Blake and Kimberly were absolutely thrilled with the transformation during the final reveal, especially since they also own the popular ice cream shop, Heritage Creamery.
Life After Fixer Upper: Where Are Blake and Kimberly Batson Now?
Since their appearance on Fixer Upper, Blake and Kimberly have had quite the journey. They're now proud parents to three children, Nora, Wynne, and Elim, and they reside in a cozy home they’ve named "The Lamp Post," located in Cameron Park, Texas. Interestingly, their Fixer Upper bungalow is now available for rent on Vrbo, still adorned with the same decor Chip and Joanna originally chose for it.
Kimberly has also expanded her entrepreneurial ventures by opening Fabled Bookshop & Cafe in the heart of Waco. This charming spot offers a wide selection of books, toys, food, and beverages. "We want people to buy a book, stay and read it," Kimberly shared in a November 2018 blog post. "We want to create areas where people can write and be creative and meet together. We want to create that space to just come and be." It’s clear that Kimberly and Blake continue to thrive and build their legacy in Waco, Texas.
