Love It or List It has been one of HGTV's most beloved shows, thanks in large part to the dynamic duo of Hilary Farr and David Visentin. But you might also remember Eric Eremita, the skilled general contractor who joined the team for Season 6. Eric quickly became a fan favorite with his hands-on approach to home renovations. However, in recent years, viewers have noticed his absence from the show, sparking curiosity about his whereabouts. Let’s dive into what really happened to Eric and where he is now.

Eric Eremita’s Journey on ‘Love It or List It’

Before Eric Eremita became a household name on Love It or List It, he was already making waves in the home renovation world. Back in 2014, Eric competed on Season 2 of Brother vs. Brother, showcasing his impressive construction skills as part of Drew Scott’s team. Producers at HGTV were so impressed with his expertise that they decided he’d be the perfect addition to Hilary and David’s team. Eric’s tenure on Love It or List It was short but impactful, with his last appearances airing in 2019.

In an interview with Forbes in August 2020, Eric opened up about his decision to leave the show. “The renovations were great. The people were great. But I thought it was time for my own thing,” he explained. It was clear that Eric was ready to take the next step in his career and explore new opportunities beyond the HGTV spotlight.

But Eric’s journey took a dramatic turn in early 2020 when he contracted COVID-19. The illness hit him hard, leaving him hospitalized for weeks and requiring two weeks on a ventilator at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. It was a harrowing experience, but Eric proved to be resilient, eventually moving to the ICU and making a remarkable recovery.

In an emotional interview with People in May 2020, Eric shared his gratitude for the medical staff who saved his life. “They’re calling me their miracle,” he revealed. “No one else in the hospital that I was in who was on a ventilator walked out alive. I’ll be honest with you, it made me very, very humbled and reminded me to appreciate life.”

Throughout his recovery, Eric leaned on the unwavering support of his family—his wife Joanne and their children Mia, Eric Jr., and Evan. They were by his side through the toughest days, offering encouragement and strength. After his hospitalization, Eric began physical therapy and was determined to get back to his active lifestyle.

“Every day is getting better,” Eric said with determination. “They told me I wouldn’t walk without a walker, but now I walk just fine. I got a bit beat up, but I’m the comeback kid.”

    Eric Eremita’s Current Projects

Fast forward to today, and Eric Eremita is still as passionate about home renovations and design as ever. While he may not be on Love It or List It anymore, Eric is busy pursuing new ventures that keep him connected to the world of television and design. One of his latest projects is a show called Homeboys, which he developed with his friend Conrad Layton. Although the show hasn’t been picked up by a network yet, Eric remains hopeful that it will find its audience soon.

In addition to his TV aspirations, Eric has also ventured into the fashion world. He launched his own clothing line, Thirteen by Eric Eremita, inspired by his lucky number, 13. The line reflects Eric’s personal style and creativity, offering a fresh take on men’s fashion.
