Lori Loughlin Finds New Meaning In Life After Challenges

Why Lori Loughlin Says She's "Grateful" 5 Years After College Scandal

In her latest Christmas movie, Full House alum Lori Loughlin steps into the shoes of a TV chef who decides to give up her culinary show to embark on a global journey. While wrapping up her final errands in Milwaukee before heading off to Paris, she crosses paths with a community that opens her eyes to the heartwarming essence of the holiday season. This isn't just another Christmas tale—it's a story about rediscovering what truly matters in life.

The title of this heartwarming TV film, A Christmas of Blessings, couldn't be more fitting for Lori, who feels deeply grateful for her second chance after serving two months in federal prison back in 2020. Her crime? Trying to secure her daughters' admission to an elite college using fraudulent credentials. A close friend shares that Lori has emerged from this ordeal with a newfound perspective, eager to live her life in a more meaningful way. "She's learned some tough lessons, but they've made her stronger and wiser," the friend explains.

Embracing Community Service

As part of her court-mandated community service, Lori, now 59, found herself at Project Angel Food, an organization dedicated to feeding those in need. Her duties include boxing groceries and delivering meals to hungry families. "When I first arrived, I was feeling pretty low," Lori recalls. "But the people here welcomed me with open arms. It's not just a job—it's a family. Everyone here is so warm and compassionate." This experience has been transformative for her, teaching her the value of giving back and connecting with others on a deeper level.

Meeting people from all walks of life has also been a wake-up call for Lori. Growing up on New York's Long Island, she started modeling at just 11 years old, living a life of relative privilege. "Lori never fully understood how privilege worked until she faced this situation," a friend reveals. "This experience has been a major life lesson for her. She now realizes how fortunate she is and how many others struggle just to make ends meet. It sounds cliché, but she's emerged from this fire as a better person." Lori's journey is one of growth, self-reflection, and gratitude.

Family Support Through Thick and Thin

Lori wasn't alone in navigating these challenges. Her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, also spent time in jail for his involvement in the college admissions scandal. Their daughters, Bella, 24, and Olivia Jade, 23, faced intense backlash online and withdrew from college, though they were never formally charged. Despite the hardships, Olivia Jade remains optimistic. "I'm so grateful for the support of my family," she says. "We've stayed close through everything, and that's what matters most." Together, they've faced adversity and emerged stronger.

    A Fresh Start

Since their release, Lori and Mossimo have sought counseling and moved to a quieter, more modest home in Hidden Hills, California. "There were ups and downs, but Lori and Mossimo are closer than ever," shares a close friend. "They've redefined what family means to them and are focused on rebuilding their lives together." Lori's return to acting with Great American Family, a Christian network based in Tennessee, has been a source of joy. This Christmas movie marks her third project with the network. "She's incredibly thankful for this second chance," her friend adds. "This experience has been transformative for her entire family, and they're all better off because of it."
