Fixer to Fabulous stars Dave Marrs and Jenny Marrs have created a home in Arkansas that feels as warm and inviting as their personalities. In an exclusive interview with Closer, the couple shared how they transformed their historic farmhouse into a cozy, family-friendly space.
A Historic Home Made Modern
Built in the early 1900s, this farmhouse is more than just a house—it’s a place where memories are made daily. The Marrs family, which includes five children—Nathan, Ben, Sylvie, Charlotte, and Luke—needed a home that could accommodate their bustling lifestyle. "We really just want to maximize every space," Jenny explained. From hidden nooks with storage to family-friendly design choices, the home is both functional and stylish. "Nothing in our home is so precious that it can't be used," she added, emphasizing the importance of practicality in their design choices.
Family-Friendly Design
The Marrs family loves hosting gatherings, so Jenny and Dave prioritized a light color palette, light floors, and light walls to create an open, airy atmosphere. "There’s always people over, so we really wanted a light color palette," Jenny said. "It helps the space feel bigger." The home is filled with natural light, thanks to large windows, and features a minimalist aesthetic that complements their lively family life. Even with five kids and plenty of toys, the home remains welcoming and organized.

A Glimpse Into Their Social Media Life
As fans of their HGTV series Rock the Block know, the Marrs family often shares glimpses of their home on social media. Their followers adore the decor choices and frequently ask about the details behind their stylish yet practical designs. Whether it's a cozy living room or a playful kids' room, the Marrs family home is a source of inspiration for many. "There’s always people asking about the small details," Jenny said, highlighting the enthusiasm their fans show for their home design.
Designing Kids' Rooms That Reflect Their Personalities
Jenny took charge of designing the kids' rooms, ensuring each space reflected her children's unique personalities. While the rooms initially looked perfect, they quickly became filled with toys like Barbies and dollhouses. "There was about a two-hour period where they looked perfect," Jenny joked. "I thought, 'I’ll take photos later,' but ever since, they’re literally trainwrecks." Despite the chaos, the Marrs family embraces the joy and laughter these rooms bring. "We try to get our kids to clean their rooms, but their version of clean is very different," Jenny admitted with a laugh.
Sentimental Touches Throughout the Home
The Marrs family has infused their home with sentimental items that hold special meaning. A book of Dave's grandma's recipes sits proudly on a shelf, while coffee table albums filled with photos of their kids capture cherished moments. "I have a lot of framed art of the kids throughout the house," Jenny said. "Their artwork is just perfect to me." These personal touches make the home not only beautiful but also deeply meaningful.
Home as a Reflection of Family Life
For Dave and Jenny, their home is more than just a building—it's a place where memories are created daily. "Jenny tries to do homes as a reflection of the family that lives in them," Dave shared. "And so I think our home is a reflection of the calm we really wish for, even though we don’t always have it." The couple's craftsmanship and creativity shine through in every corner of their home, making it a true reflection of their family’s love and joy.
